ICC World Cup | Kane Williamson & Co. have been absolutely incredible, says Eoin Morgan

Eoin Morgan heaped praise on the New Zealand cricket team led by the consistent Kane Williamson who succumbed to the narrowest of losses against England in the final of this year’s ICC World Cup. The Kiwi captain was adjudged as man of the series for his impressive return of 578 runs.

Eoin Morgan was all smiles at Lord’s on Sunday after his group of warriors laid their hands of the highly sought after ICC World Cup after beating a spirited New Zealand team led by the ever-consistent Kane Williamson. The Kiwis were highly unlucky throughout the course of the game as they saw a host of little decisions go against their favour but continued fighting till the death, something that Morgan praise in a post-match interaction.

"The biggest risk for us throughout the tournament was not playing a positive brand of cricket. It was the most incredible game of cricket, with nothing between the sides.I commend the Black Caps and Kane (Williamson, New Zealand captain), they've been absolutely incredible," Morgan was quoted as saying, reports TOI.

Meanwhile, Williamson revealed that he felt ‘gutted’ after enduring back-to-back losses in the ICC World Cup final after previously missing out on the title in 2015 against Australia.

"I think throughout this whole campaign I have spoken about 'uncontrollables' and there were a couple today that were pretty hard to swallow,"  said Williamson, who was named man of the tournament for his 578 runs.
