After being ruled out from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Shikhar Dhawan has put up an emotional post on Twitter and stated that he wouldn’t be bogged down by that. However, Dhawan has added that he is thankful to every fan and teammates for standing by his side during his tough times.

Today, the BCCI announced that Dhawan wouldn’t be a part of the team for the reminder of the World Cup as the injury to his left thumb has been aggravated and Rishabh Pant has been announced as the replacement for the southpaw. While Dhawan is expected to return to the country soon, he has put up an emotional video on Twitter to thank the fans, teammates and the nation for supporting him.

"I feel emotional to announce that I will no longer be a part of #CWC19. Unfortunately, the thumb won't recover on time. But the show must go on.. I'm grateful for all the love & support from my teammates, cricket lovers & our entire nation. Jai Hind!," Dhawan wrote on his Twitter handle.

While KL Rahul will continue to be Rohit Sharma’s partner for the remainder of the tournament, Pant might get slotted in depending on the need. As a matter of fact, Dhawan has been India’s highest run-scorer in all ICC events since 2013 and his century against Australia was the testimony to his big-match temperament.
