Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Mohammed Nabi has praised a consistent Manish Pandey stating that the players has become an added strength ever since taking that number 3 spot. The duo forged a terrific partnership against Mumbai Indians on Thursday at Wankhede albeit for a losing cause.

Manish Pandey was slotted at number 3 after England opener Jonny Bairstow left the Indian Premier League (IPL) midway to join the national side for the ODI series against Ireland. And he has taken the opportunity with both hands by quick-firing three half-centuries in as many games.

While speaking to the press after the game on Thursday, Nabi asserted that Pandey's performance has filled the massive void left by the dynamic opening partners, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, who were scoring most of the runs for the side.

“I think No. 3 is a good position for him. Over the last few games, he has consistently performed. It’s very good for the team as well because Bairstow and Warner have gone back home. Pandey has come and added strength," said the Afghan all-rounder, reported PTI.

Nabi also praised the bowling unit of Mumbai Indians stating that the yorker length deliveries of Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga were very good, which made it difficult to score against them. He hailed Bumrah's performance in the super over as well.

“The thinking was hit one or two big shots because the wicket was easy to play. Everyone knows Bumrah is the best in death overs, he bowled brilliantly in the last overs as well as the Super Over, said Nabi who scored 31 in 20 balls," Nabi told the reporters.

Notably, SRH are now ranked fifth on the points table and will have to win their last game against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore with the hope for the other results to swing their way in order to qualify for the playoffs.
