PKL 2017 | Rohit Kumar's persistence wins Bengaluru five raid points

UP Yoddha managed to hold their nerve to beat Bengaluru Bulls 32-27 in Nagpur. Bengaluru lost the match but their skipper Rohit Kumar’s efforts were much appreciated as he managed to collect five points at one go and in three matches he completed his third super 10.

The campaign of Pro Kabaddi league, which started ten days back, saw UP Yoddha and Bengaluru Bulls locking horns with each other. The game also saw a face-off between two of the most expensive players in the PKL 2017 with Rohit Kumar and Nitin Tomar going head to head but Tomar trumped his counterpart.

Rohit Kumar had been brilliant for Bengaluru Bulls in the 2016 edition of Pro Kabaddi, successfully raiding the opposition 75 times during the course of the league. Because of that performance, Bengaluru’s management gave him the skipper role for the current edition.

In yesterday’s match, he showed his worth again. At the end of the first half game, Bangalore were trailing by 10 points as the score was 18-8 in UP’s favour. The time was running out of hand and it seemed like there was no way back for Bengaluru, but in that moment, Rohit inflicted a superb all out on the Yoddha’s to make it a five-point game at 20-25. Earlier, the umpire failed to understand what happened in the game but later they gave five crucial points. But his efforts weren’t enough on the night as UP held their nerve to emerge victorious with the final score at 32-27. Even after this match, Bengaluru was on the top of the zone B points table.
