Bengal Warriors coach Jagdish Kumble has asserted that he was sure that his team would win the match as the morale of the team was great. Eventually, that is what happened as all the members of the team played their respective roles very well and the Bengal Warriors won the match comfortably.

The Bengal Warriors defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers 39-28 in a pretty one-sided match. With this win, the Bengal Warriors consolidated their numero uno position at the top of the table in Zone B whereas the Pink Panthers seem to be losing their track as they languish at the bottom in their Zone. At the post-match conference, Bengal Warriors were represented by captain PO Surjeet Singh and coach Jagdish Kumble whereas the Pink Panthers were represented by captain Anup Kumar and coach Srinivas Reddy.

“I was sure that we are going to win today. The morale of the team since before the match was great. The entire team played their part. We could have won by a better margin, but it was a good game”, said coach Jagdish Kumble.

"Yes, it was a balanced performance. After the game against Dabang Delhi K.C., we needed to change a couple of things. We learned from the game that we lost. We used Ran Singh well today, which was the plan," Kumble added.

He also explained the strategy that was put into place for the defenders to follow during the match stating that those plans worked wonders for his team.

“In the game against U.P. Yoddha our defence was sloppy. We gave away bonus points and had a few lapses. We spoke about it and changed a few things. We had planned to let the raiders deep and not rush for the tackle. We did that, and it paid off”, Surjeet Singh said.

The team will now move to Patna to play against the home team Patna Pirates. Captain Surjeet Singh mentioned that he was focused on the Pirates’ top raider Pardeep Narwal and said that they will have a plan in place to stop him.

“Pardeep Narwal is a fine raider. We have some time so will plan against him. The important thing is to execute those plans and if we do that just like we did today, we will have a good game” captain said.

On the other hand, Pink Panthers’ coach Srinivas Reddy rued the repeated mistakes his team is committing and asserted that his team would have to improve on that front.

“They are playing as a unit. Since the last 2-3 games, when we are supposed to get the opposition All-Out our raiders are committing errors. That has been our biggest setback. As far our defence is concerned, we are defending well in the beginning, but we are losing the advantage in crunch situations which is a concern. We are giving up points in pressure situations and that is why are losing the games”, coach Srinivas Reddy said.
