Okay, MS Dhoni might have made it fashionable but the wicket-keepers are gradually making it a habit of pulling off something extraordinary to fool the batsmen. Laurie Evans had no idea of his fault as Lewis McManus waited for eternity to disturb the furniture, thus sending Evans back in the hut.

The T20 Blast might have lost its charisma due to the archaic system and the lack of proper structure to it, but everyone will accept that this is a tournament that is home to some weird and funny moments over the years. Yesterday, during the game between Sussex and Hampshire, McManus was the one responsible to ensure that the match had its share of views on the Internet.

In the 10th over of the Sussex innings, leg spinner Mason Crane extracted extra bounce from the pitch and it was so pronounced that Evans was completely taken aback by it. After being beaten, the ball went to the gloves of McManus, who was keeping upfront, after bouncing off his gloves for a couple of times.Ā

However, the batsman had no idea where the ball was and least he expected it to be in McManusā€™ hands. The wicket-keeper, on the other hand, waited with the ball in his right glove and as soon as the batsman stepped out of the crease, he knocked off the bails. Evans was completely baffled by the stunt and extended his hands in confusion. Crane also realized what just happened and took a second of his own to come to terms with it before joining his teammates for celebration.
