With a straight jump of eight places, Vani Kapoor made the cut in the Ladies Finnish Open by coming level at place 14th at the end of the Round 2 in Finland. The Delhi girl finished the Round 1 tied at the 22nd position with a score of 3 over par (75) and performed even better in the second.

Vani is the only Indian selected for the Ladies Europen Tour this season and in the absence of Aditi Ashok, all hopes were on her to salvage some pride for the country. However, her performance in the first round was not impressive as she could finish the round tied at the 22nd position with a score of 3 over par (75 - 72).

In the second round, however, she shot an even-par score in Round 2 and made the cut after making a jump of eight places to lie tied 14th. Her totals of 75 and 72 in two rounds gave her a total of 3-over par, which is currently seven shots off the leader and defending champion Ursula Wikstrom of Finland.

Vani is one among a total of top 45 ladies to have made the cut at the end of the second round of the event which had a total 139 golfers. She will play her final today.
