In response to a suit filed by three boxers, including Amit Panghal, about their non-selection for the 2023 Asian Games, the Boxing Federation of India stated before the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday that its selection procedure was completely "fair and transparent."

Amit Panghal, a silver medalist in the World Championships, sued the national federation after being left off the Indian squad for the Asian Games. He claimed that while at the national camp, he was "demotivated" and made to feel worthless.

With the IABA debating the prospect of including 48kg-category in the Olympics, Mary Kom has revealed that she still dreams of winning gold on the biggest stage. The five-time world champion had participated in 51-kg category at the 2012 London Games, where she could only manage a bronze medal.
