After Mirabai Chanu won India their first medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Lovlina Borgohain confirmed the second one for the country following her win in the quarter final in the Welterweight category. The boxer won via split decision against Taiwan's Nien-Chin Chen in a dominant performance.

Olympic-bound star boxer Amit Panghal has revealed that Coronavirus hasn’t affected his courage and determination and although he can’t go outside, he is practicing in his house. After winning gold in the Asian Boxing Championship, London Olympics medalist Mary Kom has claimed that if she maintains her fitness level, nobody can beat her. The win proved that she has plenty of game left in her tank and now she is aiming for gold in the next year’s Commonwealth Games.

Mary Kom has admitted that she hopes to participate at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo, but her "main focus" will be on the 2018 Asian and Commonwealth Games. The London Olympics medallist also added that she was working hard to extend her boxing career by three to four years.
