Ramiz Raja picks his all-time XI – three Indians make it
Former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja has picked his all-time XI and he has chosen World Cup-winning all-rounder Imran Khan to lead the legendary side. While Raja picked up three Australians to feature in his line up, his selection of legendary all-rounder Sir Garfield Sobers was the highlight.
Former Pakistan international Ramiz Raja, on Tuesday, picked a team full of cricketing greats to feature in his dream team. Raja picked up the contrasting styles of Virender Sehwag and little master Sunil Gavaskar to open the innings.
While many would have gone with Rahul Dravid or Jacques Kallis for the No.3 position, Raja picked up West Indian legendary batsman Viv Richards to walk in at one down. Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara occupy the No.4 and No.5 spots respectively while No.6 position was occupied by one of the finest all-rounders to have ever graced the game—Sir Garfield Sobers.
Former Aussie wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist, who had terrorized bowlers by walking in late in Tests, was picked to bat in the No.7 position. Imran Khan, the sole Pakistani in the line up, was chosen as the captain of the side by Ramiz while another West Indian great Malcolm Marshall was picked to spearhead the bowling attack.
The line up was completed with two of Australia's greatest bowlers of all time—Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.
Ramiz Raja’s all-time XI: Virender Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar, Sir Viv Richards, Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Sir Garfield Sobers, Adam Gilchrist (wk), Imran Khan (c), Malcolm Marshall, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne.
