Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Royal Challengers Bangalore's team of Virat Kohli and co. in a replay of last year's epic final when the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League kicks off on April 5. Hyderabad have also been named as the venue for this edition's final to be held on May 21.

The tournament will take place over a period of 47 days and will be held across 10 venues. The Kings XI Punjab will split their home games across two venues namely Mohali and Indore, who will host an IPL game for the first time since 2011. According to the schedule, each team will play 14 matches – 7 of them at their respective home venues.

While the venues for the qualifiers have not been announced yet, the BCCI have confirmed that the final would take place at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on May 21.

The tenth edition of the IPL will begin just like the last edition ended with defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting runners-up Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening game on April 5. The fans would have to wait all the way till match 17 to see the new Indian captain take on his predecessor when the Royal Challengers Bangalore host the Rising Pune Supergiants.

The MS Dhoni-led team will, however, start their second IPL campaign on April 2 against two-time champions Mumbai Indians in the Maharashtra derby in Pune. Gujarat Lions, too, have been handed a tough start to the campaign as they host Kolkata Knight Riders in Rajkot. Delhi Daredevils will have to wait all the way till April 8 for their first match, for which they will have to travel to Bengaluru, while Punjab will play their opener on the same day against Pune in Indore.
