Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun has stated that Ravindra Jadeja is now capable of leading the Indian spin attack after his recent performances in England and in the ongoing match against Australia. Jadeja has already picked up five wickets in the Boxing Day Test match at the MCG.

After being picked into the Indian playing eleven in the absence of lead spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja has immediately made his presence felt in the team. He claimed two wickets against Australia in the first innings in the Boxing Day Test match. And has already bagged three scalps in the second innings of the game and has played a crucial role to take India to the top of the game at the end of the fourth day.

"(Ravindra) Jadeja has matured a lot over the years, he has gained a lot of confidence and the way he has progressed today and the way he played in England, we can be quite confident that Jadeja can lead the spinning attack," Bharat Arun said during the press conference, reported NDTV.

Jadeja was not picked for the second Test against Australia even though Ashwin was out of the match because of an abdominal strain. Later coach Ravi Shastri stated that Jadeja was not picked due to a shoulder injury that the all-rounder was carrying.

"In the last two years, Jadeja has been very very quick. He has learnt quite a lot and that has helped him evolve from what he was earlier," Arun added.

Another Indian bowler who has impressed one and all is pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Starting from his debut Test match earlier this year in South Africa and until the ongoing third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Bumrah has picked up 47 wickets from nine matches at an astounding average of close to 20.

"What makes him (Jasprit Bumrah) so special is because he is unique, maybe the batsmen picks up his length a little later. And that makes him so much more potent," the 56-year-old added.

"To be very honest, we were very confident of Bumrah doing well even before he started playing Test matches, he was unique. And most batsmen who have played him, they said it was difficult to pick him and he was somebody who did well in domestic as well."
