After ODIs, Rashid Khan becomes No. 1 in T20I bowlers rankings
After being the youngest bowler to claim the joint-top spot in the ODI rankings with Jasprit Bumrah, Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has touched the No.1 position in the T20I rankings as well. Among Indians, Bhuvneshwar Kumar made the biggest leap by moving up 20 spots to reach 12th position.
Rashid managed to secure five wickets in the two-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, which Afghanistan won 2-0. The performance not only helped Afghanistan gain some confidence ahead of the World Cup qualifier, but also resulted in Rashid leading the chart in the shortest format as well.
The 19-year-old’s rise on the table was not the only big change in T20I rankings though, as New Zealand opener Colin Munro and Australia’s Glenn Maxwell also secured the position of the top-ranked batsman and all-rounder, respectively.
While Munro moved three spots up after scoring 176 runs in the Trans-Tasman T20I series, Maxwell regained the top position after scoring 233 runs and claiming three wickets in the tournament.
After his man of the series performance in the T20I series, Bhuvneshwar Kumar's position has skyrocketed as he moved 20 places up to reach 12th position. Australia fast bowler Andrew Tye, who picked up 10 wickets in the Trans Tasman series, has also jumped 53 places to secure a career-best 49th position.
