VIDEO | Ambati Rayudu’s sudden ambitious run leaves Vijay Shankar furious after ridiculous dismissal
Ambati Rayudu got some runs under his belt today and was one of the reasons for India’s resurgence from a precarious position. However, he may get a dressing down from the team management after his severe lack of communication dismissed Vijay Shankar and the latter was rightfully gutted by that.
If you look at the first 75 balls that Rayudu had faced today, it was one of struggle and the fight to prove himself than playing according to the situation. It was almost impossible for Shankar to reach the non-striker’s end within such a short span of time as Neesham threw the ball to Munro. It missed the stumps by a whisker, but the bowler made an underarm throw at the stumps to send the batsman back to the pavilion.
The miscommunication left Shankar, who was hoping to get his first ODI half-century, gutted as he smashed his bat onto the pad before walking off. He had good reasons to be upset about Rayudu’s call as it was the first time that he got a chance to bat in ODI cricket and was
