Being sharp and alert on debut is crucial, often leading to standout moments on the field. Australia’s debutant made an impressive impact on the first day of the final Test against India, displaying quick reflexes that ultimately contributed to Virat Kohli's unfortunate dismissal.

‌Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah won the toss and chose to bat on a pitch that immediately suited the Australian pacers with its seam movement. Openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal started cautiously but found the conditions difficult, and Rahul was dismissed in the fifth over by Mitchell Starc. Jaiswal followed soon after in the eighth over, leaving India at 17/2, but Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill steadied the ship with a solid 40-run partnership. Just before lunch, Nathan Lyon removed Gill, and after the break, Kohli fell to a stunning catch by Beau Webster.

On the third ball of the 32nd over, Scott Boland bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off, which straightened off the seam and showed signs of extra bounce. Kohli, on the back foot, poked at it with an angled bat, and the ball flew uppishly towards second slip. In a moment of brilliance, Beau Webster leaped to his left from third slip, taking a stunning catch with both hands in front of Steven Smith. Kohli’s dismissal, yet again poking at a ball outside the off stump, marked the seventh time this series he had been dismissed in this fashion, leaving the Indian fans stunned as he trudged off for 17 off 69, sparking a frenzy on Twitter.
