Manchester United continued their bright start to the season they secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Swansea City on Saturday remain on top of the Premier League table. Meanwhile, Sadio Mane's second-half strike earned Liverpool a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Swansea City 0 - 4 Manchester United

Despite defeating West Ham United 4-0 in their opening game of the new season, United didn’t look like in the same flow in the second game in South Wales. But once Eric Bailly secured the first goal for the Joes Mourinho-managed side at the end of a tight first half, they found the net three times in next five-minute spell late in the game to take the scoreline to 4-0.

The victory meant maximum points, eight goals and two clean sheets in their opening two games for Jose Mourinho’s side.

In the third minute of the game, Jordan Ayew burst forward for Swansea, cut in from the left and mishit a cross that grazed the visitors’ crossbar. However, Mourinho’s men broke almost immediately when Lukaku seized on an errant pass and raced towards goal, but his initial shot was blocked and his follow-up effort curled wide.

United seemed frustrated in the first half an hour and it was highlighted when Marcus Rashford sent an ambitious long-range effort straight at home goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski. But the Swans failed to keep up the same momentum in the second half as Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial took United to their second successive 4-0 victory.

Liverpool 1 - 0 Crystal Palace

Sadio Mane helped Liverpool earn their first Premier League win of the season as Crystal Palace suffered a second-straight defeat despite an improved display at Anfield.

Missing Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne, and Philippe Coutinho through injury, Jurgen Klopp's side were heading for a frustrating draw after wasting a string of chances until Mane struck in the 73rd minute to defeat a determined Palace side.

Liverpool started the game on the offensive as Andy Robertson, making his Liverpool debut, threatened for the home side, delivering a decent cross that just lacked a good assist enough to finish it off. After several failed chances, in the second half of the game, Mane was able to convert a goal to give Liverpool their first win of the season.

Stoke City 1 - 0 Arsenal

Jese Rodriguez scored the winner on his debut as Stoke City thrash Arsenal with a 1-0 victory at the bet365 Stadium. The forward, who was loaned by Stoke from Paris Saint-Germain, struck early in the second half with an impressive finish to down Arsenal.

Although Alexandre Lacazette had scored an equalizer for the Gunners, the referee ruled that out for offside in a contentious decision. Eventually, that moment proved decisive as the Gunners were unable to repeat their heroics from last week's opener against Leicester City.

Both the teams now have three points from their first two matches. Arsenal, who were without injured Alexis Sanchez, have not won their first two games in a Premier League season since 2009 as they suffer an early blow to their title hopes.

Other results:

AFC Bournemouth 0 - 2 Watford

Burnley 0 - 1 West Bromwich Albion

Leicester City 2 - 0 Brighton & Hove Albion

Southampton 3 - 2 West Ham United
