India have been crowned as the Hockey Junior World Cup Men 2016 champions following a 2-1 triumph over Belgium in the competition final in Lucknow on Sunday. The home side took a 2-0 lead in the first half with Gurjant Singh and Simranjeet Singh scoring two field goals.

Belgium and India will meet in the Final of the Uttar Pradesh Hockey Junior World Cup Men Lucknow 2016 after winning their respective Semi-Final matches on Friday (16th December).

India came from behind to defeat Spain 2-1 to enter the semifinals of the Men's Junior World Cup Semi-Finals at Lucknow where they will take on Australia. Simranjeet Singh first scored off a PC rebound, before Harmanpreet Singh sealed the win with a well-taken drag-flick with just four minutes left.

Indian colts displayed a remarkable team effort to defeat England 5-3 on Day 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Hockey Junior World Cup Men Lucknow 2016. Buoyed by their win against Canada on the opening day, the Indian boys entertained their supporters in a goal fest to move closer to the Quarter Finals.

Following an energetic and colourful opening ceremony, India and Canada took to the field to contest the final match of the day. India delighted the noisy home fans with a high-quality performance, winning 4-0 thanks to goals from Mandeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Varun Kumar and Ajit Panday.
