Bengaluru Bulls’ coach BC Ramesh has stated that the coordination between defense and offense of his team has been 'absolutely perfect' which has led to their good form in PKL. Bengaluru Bulls defeated UP Yoddha to bag their fourth win on the trot, leaving the latter without a win in their home leg.

Bengaluru Bulls defeated UP Yoddha 37-27 in a one-sided encounter at Greater Noida yesterday which helped consolidate the former’s stronghold on the top of the Zone B table. Pawan Sehrawat was the star of the match for Bengaluru picking a total of 11 points, completing yet another Super Ten in the ongoing season of the PKL. The Bulls coach said that he was satisfied with the performance of his men in the season so far.

“It was a very good performance from the team. We have been able to coordinate really well in both departments. One of our three raiders- Rohit Kumar, Pawan Sehrawat or Kashiling Adake-takes up the role of the lead raider and the other two act as backups around him. The defence has been supporting our offence really well. We have a lot of matches to go and we want to better our performances from here on,” BC Ramesh said.

Mahender Singh put in a brilliant display on his side of the mat accumulating a total of six tackle points. The coach also stated that he was expecting a thunderous performance from the player, who had had a lacklustre season thusfar.

“We knew Mahender would perform well. Before the match started, we had told him that he can give his best defensive performance tonight. He was coming up with improved performances every game and the fact that he can tackle all around the court is an added bonus,” he added.

Captain Rohit Kumar also performed well in the restricted raids that he got and ended the game with a cool seven points. The skipper, however, was more interested in praising his compatriot Pawan Sehrawat for his raiding abilities.

“The idea was to play well. I know the longer I spend on the mat, the better it is for the team since I can guide them from the middle. Pawan Sehrawat has been handling the role of lead raider very well. It is a responsibility he has taken to and I am happy to let him do it as long as he is winning games for us,” Rohit Kumar said.

On the other hand, UP Yoddha were no match for the raging Bulls from Bengaluru and in losing by more than seven points, failed to bag a consolation point. The team finished their home leg without a single point to their name and Assistant Coach Arjun Singh asserted that injury niggles to their main raiders affected their performance in the match.

“Our raiders have been struggling with a few niggles. Since it’s our home leg, we have been having matches every day. Hence we have been trying our backup raiders. When the offence doesn’t get you points, the defence loses its morale as well,” Arjun Singh said.

Rishank Devadiga, who was seen limping during the game, also emphasized the role that injuries have played derailing their season so far.

“I have been carrying a few niggles, so I couldn’t get points with the frequency the team needed. Bengaluru Bulls were scoring a lot of raid points, so I thought I’ll help the defence out. We were unsuccessful initially but once the defence got set, they performed brilliantly,” Devadiga said.
