Dabang Delhi’s coach Krishan Kumar Hooda, after their win against Tamil Thalaivas, said that the reason for their win is the perfect execution of their gameplan. This was Dabang Delhi 11th win out of the 14 matches they have played so far and they lead the points table with 59 points.

Dabang Delhi bounced back from their loss against Haryana Steelers brilliantly, with win over the Tamil Thalaivas. The final scoreline was 50-34 and Delhi became the first team this season to score 50 points in a single match.

“Every game brings a new challenge. We practised well for today and we executed our gameplan to perfection. The captain has been instrumental in leading the troops. And Naveen Kumar had obviously been unbelievable. The raiding unit played extremely well. The defenders also played brilliantly,” Dabang Delhi coach Krishan Kumar Hooda said in the post-match press conference.

Delhi had a shaky start as they gave points in both the departments but they recovered quickly, thanks to good raiding performances by Meraj Sheykh and Naveen Kumar. It meant that Delhi was able to inflict two all-outs in the first half itself, as they took an inconsolable lead of 12 points over the Tamil Thalaivas at the end of the first half.

“The coach was honest about our performance last night. We knew we were better than that and today we showed just that. The defence played like we have throughout the season. Meraj Sheykh has found form at the right time for us,” skipper Joginder Narwal expressed.

Their raiding unit scored 32 points collectively, the highest scorer was Naveen Kumar with 17 points and he was complimented well by Meraj Sheykh who scored 12 points. In defence, while they did make a few mistakes, Delhi covered well as Anil Kumar finished as the top scorer with 3 points followed by Ravinder Pahal and Vijay who scored 2 points each.

“I'm extremely pleased. Nothing makes me happier than the team's success. So, I’m overjoyed,” Naveen Kumar signed off.
