Cricket all-Stars unite to globalise the game

Legends, stars, role models, milestone men, record-breakers, show-stoppers, gurus of cricket, you name it, you got it, all in the much-anticipated Cricket All-Stars Series T20 featuring retired players. The three games will take place starting November 7 in the United States, an unfamiliar turf in the world of cricket.

The series pits Sachin Tendulkarā€™s Blasters against Shane Warneā€™s Warriors, with the opening match taking place at New Yorkā€™s Citi Field,Ā whichĀ is home to Major League Baseballā€™s New York Mets.

The second match will be played on November 12 at Houstonā€™s Minute Maid Park, which houses Houston Astros. The final match will be held on November 15 at Los Angelesā€™ Dodger Stadium,Ā home to Los Angeles Dodgers.

Record-breaking Tendulkar and spin wizard Shane Warne lead their respective squads. Given the large subcontinent diaspora in the US, it is an opportunity for the spectators to watch their heroes live in action.

For the avid cricket lover, it is an opportunity to relive a Tendulkar straight drive, a Ricky Ponting pull, a Sangakkara cover-drive, a Brian Lara flick, a Jacques Kallis hook shot, a Saqlain Mustaq doosa, a Warne flipper, a Wasim Akram cutter, a Curtly Ambrose bouncer. The list goes onā€¦
