IBSF Snooker World Cup | India qualifies for final after winning against Ireland

Pankaj Advani and Laxman Rawat have taken India into the final of the ongoing IBSF Snooker World Cup in Doha, Qatar. India got the better of Ireland 3-2 in the semi-final and qualified for the summit clash which will be played against Pakistan, who defeated Qatar 3-1, on Wednesday.

Advani and Rawat continued their great run at the ongoing International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Cup in Doha. The duo helped India beat a strong Irish unit in the top-four clash on Monday. The defending champions had a poor start in the semi-final but managed to come from behind and book the place in the final.

India were trailing 0-2 at one point of time against Ireland. The Indian pair, however, bounced back stronger in the doubles event to ensure a brilliant comeback. Advani got the better of Brendan O’Donoghue in the fourth frame while Rawat managed to beat Aaron Hill.

Earlier in the tournament, India had thrashed Iran 3-0 on Sunday to make it into the top four of the global event. Ireland had defeated Hong Kong and qualified for the semi-finals of the global event in Qatar’s capital.

The summit clash is scheduled to be played on Wednesday against neighbours Pakistan who thrashed Qatar 3-1 in the semi-final battle.
