AFC U-19 Cup | India U-19 women's grouped with Thailand, Pakistan, Nepal and Singapore

Indian U-19 women team have been drafted alongside neighbours Pakistan and Nepal as well as the likes of hosts Thailand and Singapore for the upcoming AFC U-19 Asian Cup. Their best result in the tournament came back in 2004, where they reached the quarter-finals but ended up losing to North Korea.

While the Indian Men's national football team prepares themselves for the Intercontinental Cup which will see the boys in blue go up against New Zealand, Chinese Taipei and Kenya, the young U-19 women's team will begin preparations for the AFC U-19 Asian Cup to be played in Thailand later this year.

India have been drawn against neighbours Pakistan and Nepal in Group B along with host country Thailand and Singapore as well. The tournament is scheduled to begin October 20 to 28. Previously, India have qualified twice for the tournament and while they also hosted the first-ever edition of the Cup back in 2002. The tournament held in Goa, saw the Indian team finish third in their group, which also contained big names like Japan, South Korea and Guam.

The last time the Indian team made it to the AFC championship was in 2006 while their best-ever performance came in 2004. They managed to reach the quarter-finals that year as they lost out to eventual third-place finishers, North Korea.
