Two weeks without club football and the world’s ready to implode but fear not because football is back and it’s back with another sparkling gameweek. It’s a jam-packed schedule, in England atleast, with mouth-watering battles including one Big Six clash as Frank Lampard and Pep Guardiola square off.

Welcome to just another football blog and before we get into the deets, JOSE MOURINHO IS BACK and shockingly he’s back with Tottenham. The man, the myth and the legend is back with North London’s second-biggest club replacing the well-loved Mauricio Pochettino. That alone announces that the international break is over and we’re already off to an absolute flyer!!

Manchester City and Liverpool ended the Premier League before the international break and Jose Mourinho starts things off this time with a battle against West Ham. Then a six-game goal-rush, including Arsenal vs Southampton, Bournemouth vs Wolves, Crystal Palace vs Liverpool and Watford vs Burnley, before the marquee superstar clash of the weekend. That’s right, it’s Chelsea vs Manchester City and things get interesting.

It pits Frank Lampard’s young guns against a frustrated Pep Guardiola, who sit one point behind the Blues, which makes the battle even better. The title race in England is heating up but it’s nothing compared to the world outside Brexit. With five points separating first and sixth in Spain every game becomes important but the marquee fixture happens to be Villarreal vs Celta Vigo. Barcelona and Real Madrid are also in action with the former taking on Leganes on Saturday and the latter locking horns with Real Sociedad on Sunday.

The lead, in Germany, is six points between first and sixth which once again makes every game that much more important. Although the must-watch game just happens to be Bayer Leverkusen vs SC Freiburg, who sit eight and fourth respectively, with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich also battling it out on Saturday. The Serie A table looks a lot more respectable and competitive than usual with one point separating one and two.

But the marquee game?? The superstar game just happens to be between AC Milan and Napoli, two sides in dire trouble, and it pits former Rossoneri boss Carlo Ancelotti against the team he won the Champions league with. Atalanta also take on Juventus and Torino battle Inter Milan in what should be two very interesting games.

France, as usual, is boring and nobody but PSG will win the league so why must one even watch the football on show?? Well despite PSG’s eight-point lead at the summit, everything else below them is up for grabs with just two points separating the second place and the ninth-place teams, just four separating the second place and the eleventh place sides and six separating second and fifteenth.

But the marquee game of the weekend happens to be PSG vs LOSC Lille in what promises to be a goal-fest! Olympique Lyon also take on OGC Nice and St-Etienne battle Montpellier in two games that should be very interesting to watch. All in all, a lot of football to watch and this week has a little something for everyone.
