LIVE FIFA World Cup Qualifers | India vs Bangladesh

Bangladesh would undoubtedly not come into the match, to be held AT Yuva Bharati Krirangan, as the favorites but after India’s great result away at Qatar, fans wouldn’t get too complacent at any point in the game. However, any but a win on Tuesday could open up serious frailties for the Indian team.

The Blue Tigers would be in action once again in their World Cup campaign on Tuesday, where they would be facing Bangladesh in their third group stage match. After losing to Oman and drawing against Qatar, Igor Stimac would be desperate for a win in front of a packed stadium, as has been reported, and if Bangladesh are coming for a draw, another solitary point could be extremely frustrating.

Stimac would be expected to test all his offensive combinations if things don’t go their way initially. The 10-day preparatory camp in Guwahati and a warm-up match against NorthEast United are expected to have readied the team well.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who was the hero for India in their last match in Qatar, would need to be extra attentive this time as lack of attack from the opposite side could result in lapse of concentration. However, given India’s head to head record with Bangladesh, India should be e foreseeing a loss. The two teams have played each other 28 times with India winning 15 times and losing only twice.

However, India would be having skipper Sunil Chhetri in the side, who after missing the Qatar match has scored in the clash against NEUFC to get back in touch.

Injury News

While Sandesh Jhingan would be out of the match with an injury, India would hardly be bothered by it for they are expected to attack for the 90 minutes in the match. Barring that, Stimac would also have Narender Gahlot or Anas Edathodika replacing him to partner Adil Khan at the heart of India's defence.

In the midfield, both Amarjit Kiyam and Pranoy Halder are sitting out with their respective injuries, while India’s next best option Rowllin Borges is out of the clash due to a suspension.

Predicted XI

India (4-2-3-1) - Gurpreet; Mandar, Anas, Adil, Pritam; Vinit, Thapa; Ashique, Sahal, Udanta; Chhetri

Bangladesh (4-1-4-1) – Ashraful; Rayhan, Riyadul, Yeasin, Rahmat; Jamal; Ibrahim, Sohel Rana, Biplo, Saad; Ziban
