Haryana has won one and lost one match against U Mumba this season, in fact, their last match of the league stage was against Mumba which they lost by six points. They fought well in that match but Vikas Kandola wasn’t at his best and Vinay despite scoring 11 points wasn’t able to win the match alone. They rested their skipper Dharmaraj Cheralathan and he will be back on his rightful position in the playoffs, he brings in a lot of experience which helps the team cope better with the pressure. Apart from him Ravi Kumar and Sunil are their key defenders who have more than 100 points amongst them and have proved to be an asset to the team. Haryana has more wins than Mumba and that might serve as a positive remainder for them.

U Mumba won a match against Haryana Steelers despite their main raiders not playing the match, also they have a four-match unbeaten streak and in a better momentum than them. U Mumba’s raiding unit was under speculation before the start of the season but their young unit has proved themselves. Abhishek Singh emerged as the player who scored the most runs for them and he was supported by all the other raiders. Their defence unit is solid with Fazel Atrachali and Sandeep Narwal at the corner position and Surinder Singh slowly coming back in form. In the last match itself, Fazel went past the 300th tackle point mark. Fazel kept Vikas Kandola quiet and that will definitely give them an advantage over him.

Key players

Vikas Kandola

He has not only scored 178 points in the season so far but has made sure that when he performs the team doesn’t lose. He has been consistent throughout the season and that is evident as he has scored 10 Super Tens. He will be a key player for his team in the playoffs as they rely on him to take the lead in the raiding unit and his performance gives the team a lot of confidence.

Abhishek Singh

Having scored 135 points in 19 matches, Abhishek Singh successfully managed to prove that he is capable of being the lead raider of the team. In a match against Puneri Paltan when U Mumba is lagging behind, he with a series of raids, single-handedly managed to turn the results in their favour. U Mumba would hope for a similar performance from him in this match as well.
