India has fielded a strong team which will mark the return of Saketh Myneni for this year's Davis Cup tie against Pakistan. Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Ramkumar Ramanathan will lead the singles challenge while Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan will form the doubles pair for the highly anticipated tie.

The Indian tennis team will have all eyes on them as they travel to Islamabad for the upcoming tie against Pakistan. The All India Tennis Association selection committee has opted to go with a full-strength Indian Davis Cup team who play Pakistan for the first time since 2006.

There were barely any surprises in the selection of the singles and doubles category as the top players from both categories being eligible for automatic selection. However, veteran player Saketh Myneni returned to the Davis Cup team after a lengthy absence. Myneni did not feature in India’s last match as they hosted Italy on the grass courts of Calcutta South Club last year in September.

He last played in September 2018 when India travelled to Serbia for the World Group Play-offs, losing in straight sets with Bopanna to Nikola Milojevic and Danilo Petrovic.

Prajnesh Gunneswaran and Ramkumar Ramanathan will lead the singles challenge while Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan will form the doubles pair. The match is scheduled to be held in Islamabad on September 14. The winner of the tie will qualify for the next year’s World Group Qualifiers.
