Regional powerhouse China stopped India’s inspired run in the 2015 FIBA Asia Basketball Championship in Changsha-Hunan (China) with a 104-58 victory in the quarterfinals.

World number 61 India were no match to the hosts, ranked 14 in the world and spearheaded by former NBA centre Yi Jianlian, who pumped in 22 points.

The hosts turned on the heat early and quickly took control of the game as they tightly marked in-form Amjyot Singh, India’s main scorer in the competition.

It was India’s first knockout appearance since 2003, and the Vishesh Bhriguvanshi-led team will play two classification games – the first against South Korea – to determine their final placing among the top-eight.
