Former Sri Lanka opener Sanath Jayasuriya picked Anil Kumble as the most dangerous Indian bowler he has faced for the leg-spinner’s ability to think a batsman out, and reserved the title of the most dangerous batsman for Sachin Tendulkar.

“For me it’s Anil Kumble. He had a lot of variations and he was a thinking bowler, always tried to look into the weakness of his opponent and he is a smart cricketer,” Jayasuriya, currently Sri Lanka’s chief selector, said when asked about the most dangerous and attractive players from India.

“The most dangerous was always Sachin. He handled and absorbed pressure really well and the way he played,” added Jayasuriya, reported The Quint.

Jayasuriya, 47, was in Mumbai for the launch of the book Tall Order written by Kapil Pathare.

Speaking about his relationship with Indian players, he said, “I played IPL with Sachin, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan, so these three are very close to me because I played with them in the Mumbai Indians.

The Lankan batsman also named Yuvraj Singh as an attractive batsman, while also praising the aggressive nature of Virender Sehwag's batting.

“Yuvraj was an attractive cricketer. Virender Sehwag is another attractive cricketer and the way he played aggressively, I liked him,” the Sri Lankan said.
