A scintillating bowling display from Sunrisers Hyderabad annihilated Mumbai Indians' batting lineup as the visitors cruised to a 85-run win at Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan's 82-run knock helped Hyderabad post 177, which proved to be a daunting target for the home side in the end.

Brief Scores: Sunrisers Hyderabad 177/3 in 20 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 82(57), David Warner 48(33); Harbhajan Singh 2/29, Mitchell McClenaghan 1/38) won against Mumbai Indians 92 all out in 16.3 overs (Harbhajan Singh 21(22), Krunal Pandya 17(11); Ashish Nehra 3/15, Mustafizur Rahman 3/16)

Both the teams were tied at 10 points at the start of this game, as Mumbai hosted Hyderabad in the first match at their new home ground in Visakhapatnam. The same stadium had hosted three of Hyderabad's home matches last season, so it was not an unfamiliar setting for David Warner and his men.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and had no hesitation to bowl first, on a wicket which looked good for batting with humidity being the only worrying factor for the players. Both the teams fielded unchanged teams for this game, which was not a surprise considering Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians came into this match on the back of a good run of form.

1. The David Warner show continues

The southpaw got his team off to a fantastic start once again with a 33-ball 48 run innings. The Mumbai fast bowlers kept bowling short on a wicket which already had a lot of bounce, and the Australian felt right at home. He hit Tim Southee's opening ball of the innings to the boundary through the cover, and did not look back since.

Warner also became the second highest run scorer in the IPL season with 458 runs in nine innings. The 29-year-old was, eventually, dismissed by Harbhajan Singh—just two runs short of what would have been his sixth half-century this season. But by the time he returned to the pavilion, Hyderabad already had 85 runs on the board, in just 9.5 overs.

2. Bhajji fights back

With his fast bowlers being unable to provide him with breakthroughs, Rohit Sharma brought on his most experienced bowler Harbhajan Singh in the fourth over the innings. However, the off-spinner was taken to the cleaners by Warner, who hit him for a massive six over long-on and then sliced one through the point boundary one ball later.

Sharma brought Bhajji back for his second spell in the seventh over, and the 35-year-old redeemed himself in this spell. Warner hit him for two boundaries in the ninth over, before the Aussie holed out at long on while trying to hit a wide and full delivery from the spinner out of the ground. In his next over, Harbhajan dismissed Kane Williamson with a classical delivery. The ball had a lot more flight to it, and Williamson closed the face of his bat too soon, which led to a leading edge. Rohit Sharma completed a fine diving catch to remove the Kiwi star and all of a sudden Sunrisers were 91/2 in 11.3 overs, after being 85/0 in 9.4 overs.

3. Dhawan and Yuvi back in form

Despite being one of the top-scorers his IPL, Shikhar Dhawan has not been at his flowing best this season. He has mostly played second fiddle to Warner at the other end, however, the southpaw took charge of the situation once the Aussie was dismissed today. Dhawan, who had scored 228 runs at a strike rate below 110 before this game, scored 82 runs in just 57 deliveries today. In fact, his last 37 runs came in just 17 balls.

The Indian International was ably supported by Yuvraj Singh towards the end of the innings. Yuvraj, who came back into the side after a spell on the sidelines due to an injury, showed glimpses of his old belligerent self with 23-ball 39 runs knock. The duo put on an 85-run stand in 8.1 overs and guided their team to a respectable total of 177 in their 20 overs.

4. Mumbai blown away by Hyderabad's pacers

When the Mumbai pacers bowled short and got hammered by the batsmen, Sunrisers found the right length for this wicket. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ashish Nehra pitched the ball up to the batsman and extracted a lot of swing in the air. By the fifth over, Mumbai had lost five wickets for just 30 runs, and Nehra picked up three of those. The left-arm pacer was in explosive form tonight, and having picked up the first wicket with a full delivery, he removed Ambati Rayudu with a quick bouncer. For Jos Buttler, he was again back to his full length, which induced an outside edge to the wicketkeeper.

What Nehra started out, Mustafizur Rahman finished it off. The Bangladeshi pacer has been a revelation this year, and he wrapped up the lower order of the Mumbai Indians lineup with a spell of 3/16. None of the Mumbai batsmen applied themselves on the pitch as they crumbled like a house of cards.
