Matches: 134, Runs: 3814, Batting Average: 36.32, Strike Rate: 128.5
Claim to Greatness:
To say that Virat Kohli is in good form is to merely state the obvious. And this is no ordinary patch of good form either. Kohli today is in imperious touch, dictating matches and bending situations to his will. In this season alone, Kohli has scored an astonishing 752 runs in 12 matches at a jaw-dropping average of 84 along with 3 centuries. This is more runs than have been ever scored in a single season, and there are potentially another 5 matches to go. He could end up with more than a 1000 runs! Kohli is no one season wonder though. He is the 2nd highest run getter in IPL history and he has got these runs at an impressive average of 36. In a team like RCB, bursting with batting superstars, Kohli has been the batting mainstay over the years. Signed on a youth contract by RCB in the inaugural season, Kohli has grown, matured and transformed into a superstar as big as any.

The IPL has always had a love affair with the Aussies and David Warner has been one of the biggest Australian names in the IPL. Warner had initially played for Delhi Daredevils before then plying his trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner is an explosive batsman and his strike rate of 142 is a testament to that fact. Warner is one of the few players to have scored two centuries in the IPL. In 2015, Warner had a sensational IPL, scoring 562 runs in 14 matches, an effort which won him the coveted Orange Cap. In the current edition of the IPL, Warner has led his team with flair and imagination, and Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently placed comfortably at the top of the table. Warner has led from the front and has scored 567 runs this season. Apart from his fielding, Warner also contributes with his outstanding fielding.
3. J.P. Duminy

Claim to Greatness:
JP Duminy has been involved with IPL from the second edition onwards. Over the years, JP Duminy has played for Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians, performing with distinction for each of these teams. The hallmark of Duminy’s distinguished IPL career has been his stellar consistency. He is one of only 4 players with an average above 40. Duminy’s consistency at the middle has allowed the upper order to express themselves, safe in the knowledge that JP Duminy is yet to come. Apart from his batting exploits, Duminy has chipped in with a few overs on numerous occasions, thus lending that much-needed balance to the side.
