Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Wednesday reclaimed the No.1 spot in Test rankings for bowlers following career-best figures of 13/140 in the third Test against New Zealand. Among batsmen, Ajinkya Rahane entered the top 10, while Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara also moved up the ranks.

With a man-of-the-series performance against New Zealand, accounting for 27 wickets in three Tests, Ravichandran Ashwin climbed back to the top spot in ICC Test rankings for bowlers on Wednesday with a career-best rating of 900 points.

With 220 wickets to his name, the most by any bowler after 39 Tests, Ashwin pipped pace bowlers James Anderson and Dale Steyn to the No. 1 spot for the first time after July 2016.

Among batsmen, Ajinkya Rahane has attained his career-best ranking of sixth after registering scores of 188 and 23 not out in the third Test against New Zealand. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara was the second best among Indian batsmen at 14th followed by skipper Virat Kohli in 16th place.

Aussie skipper Steven Smith currently sits atop the batsmen's rankings, followed by England's Joe Root and South Africa's Hashim Amla. Kane Williamson lost two spots to move to fifth in the rankings following poor performances in the Test series against India.
