MS Dhoni becomes second most successful ODI captain of all time
Indian limited overs skipper has become the second most successful captain in ODI history following the convincing win over New Zealand in the first ODI. Dhoni surpassed Australian legend Allan Border's record of 107 wins although he took 16 more matches to reach the milestone than Border's 178.

The Indian skipper is also unlikely to surpass the record of Ricky Ponting, who no doubt was at the helm of the greatest ODI team of the modern era. Ponting had notched up 165 wins off 230 matches at an impressive win percent of 76.14%.
Only Hansie Cronje's South African that “dropped” the World Cup, and thus led to the Aussie era of the last decade, comes close to that record with a win percent of 73.7% leading to 99 wins in 138 matches. Had they won that tragic semi-final, Cronje would have hit a century and may be more.
However, it is Clive Lloyd's West Indian team of the late 70s and early 80s that lead the charts on the success margin for a long period – Lloyd boasts of a 77.71% win record in 84 matches.
