WATCH | Aaron Finch smashes 30 runs in an over en route his century
The match between Surrey and Sussex in Natwest T20 Blast on Sunday was lit up when the explosive Aaron Finch smashed 30 runs in an over to help Surrey reach 193/2 at the end of the stipulated 20 overs. The Aussie scored a 64-ball 114 that helped his team register a 17-run win over Sussex.
The Natwest T20 Blast 2017 is turning out to be an entertaining tournament that has produced some of the best moments in cricket. Following the trend, Aaron Finch gave the organisers another highlight reel moment when he smashed 30 runs in the 18th over which included four mammoth sixes.
Sussex captain Ross Taylor burdened David Wiese with the responsibility of bowling the 18th over of the match when Surrey was going at over 8 runs in an over with 8 wickets in hand. Wiese started with a straying full-length delivery on the leg stump which was clipped by Finch for an easy double. The two runs scored on the first ball was just a preview of the storm that was to come on the following deliveries.
The second delivery almost produced a wicket when Finch mistimed a shot but the Aussie's brute strength behind the shot helped the ball fall over the ropes for a six. Wiese tried to deceive the 30-year old with a slower delivery but ended up gifting the Aussie a full toss which he smoked out of the park. The third delivery was angled into the right-hander but suffered the same fate as the Aussie smacked the third six in a row. The following delivery produced the best of the lot when Finch rocked back onto his backfoot and gracefully hit the ball over the long-off boundary for the fourth six of the over. The last delivery of the over was another full toss and Finch made full use of the opportunity by chipping it over the in-field to score a boundary and complete a 30-run over.

The huge over helped Finch score a 58-ball century and powered Surrey to a commendable total of 193/2 at the end of 20 overs. The Surrey bowlers followed it up with a brilliant performance to seal the game in their team's favour.
