After losing the semifinal encounter against Akane Yamaguchi 21-19, 19-21, 18-21, PV Sindhu has claimed that the All England Open has taught her many things which will help her in the future games. She has also added that she will have to come back stronger in the upcoming tournaments.

After Saina Nehwal's early exit, PV Sindhu was the only Indian star left in the women's singles event at the ongoing 2018 All England Open. She managed to beat Nozomi Okuhara 20-22, 21-18, 21-18 to enter in the semifinal but her winning streak in the prestigious tournament was stopped by World No. 2 Akane Yamaguchi. This was a nail-biting semifinal which lasted for one hour and 19 minutes. The fourth seed managed to win the first set but Yamaguchi made a comeback by winning the second which forced the game to enter in the decider where the Japanese successfully controlled her nerves and emerged victorious.

"It was just not my day. I gave my 100 percent. There are always ups and downs and one should win and one should lose. There were long rallies and she played well," Sindhu said after the match as quoted by PTI.

"Playing a three-game tie is not easy. Just two-three points made the huge difference in the end as it was anybody's game. I have a lot of things to learn from this tournament. You keep losing and winning but it was a good tournament and I have to come back stronger."

Yamaguchi had won the German Open earlier this month and she continued her aggressive approach in the semis against Sindhu.

"This win is a very valuable asset for me. I am thankful that I got a chance to fight tomorrow. I was just trying to keep up with the pace and hang on. I was aggressive in the end and it led to the win," she said.

The win ensured the 20-year-old book her place in the final of the All England Open where she will face World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying today.

"She is aggressive and has got speed and great retriving skills and I will give everything I got and just want to enjoy the match," Yamaguchi said on her opponent.
