The Bombay high court has issued a notice to the BCCI, asking them to reply to the petition filed by the Telangana Cricket Association alleging the board of 'bias'. The petition was filed through advocate Karan Bhosle, who prayed to the Bombay High Court to induct them as an 'associate member'.

The state of Telangana was formed in 2014 and only a year later, the TCA was formed with the head-office being in Hyderabad. And till 2018, the association has conducted about 31 tournaments at different levels and around 1350 matches as per the norms of the BCCI.

The state cricket association filed the first application on August 3, 2016, to become an associate member of the BCCI and then they followed it up with other letters informing the Indian cricket board about their events and asked them for recognition and affiliation.

But the BCCI neither paid any heed to their plea nor made any communication from their end, which forced the association to file a petition in the court. It was mentioned that the court should direct the board to consider the four applications filed by TCA and now the Bombay High Court has directed the same.

However, TCA has fears that the BCCI might not recognize their existence as it favours Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), which is based out of the same city. But as a matter of fact, the TCA has emphasised that its work is mainly focused on the rural areas of Telangana that is not a part of the HCA at all.

Considering everything that the plea has, the division bench of justice Shantanu Kemkar and Justice M S Karnik has ordered the BCCI to file its reply within two weeks.
