Much beyond the cultural similarity that dates back to the days of Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, India and South Africa have shared a long and historic friendship. That often became the default theme and expect nothing different as the teams will lock horns today in a T20I in Dharamshala.

When India and South Africa played a T20I early 2006, that was the first time India played a game of 20-over cricket. Clearly opposing the idea, they sent an under-strength team, or so they thought, in the inaugural edition of the World T20 hosted in the African nation. They came back with the trophy in hand and destroyed some of the appalling preconceptions to then launch the Indian Premier League.

Along the way, the two teams have involved themselves in so many T20 series, with India majorly misfiring, sans one in South Africa last year. However, this time, India, under the leadership of Virat Kohli, seems like a force to be reckoned with and come 7PM, they will push themselves to the limit so as to go 1-0 up in the series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Quinton de Kock will lead the side in the absence of Faf du Plessis and with a young squad at his disposal, things are not going to be hunky dory for the newly-appointed skipper. The conditions in Dharamsala might support the pacers but expect nothing else than a run-fest.

Before you get into the mood, grab the popcorn, and involve yourself in some Sunday fun, do yourself a favour and take this quiz to test your knowledge on the T20 rivalry between India and South Africa.

India are going to start the game as heavy favorites owing to their current form and the dominance that they have had at home over the last decade. However, if there is one team that has often proved to be great travellers in international cricket, it is South Africa and this game could be screaming out for a hero. The Indians have obviously been preferred but Bodog has handed the Proteas a fighting chance as well. You can see all of it on Bodog.com.
