Rajasthan Royals registered their fifth win of the IPL 2022 beating Delhi Capitals by 15 runs courtesy of a century from Jos Buttler. Buttler set the stage for RR’s victory smashing 116 runs from 65 balls including nine fours and nine sixes helping them post a total of 222/2 in the first innings.
The game between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals turned out to be a high-scoring game. RR emerged victorious by 15 runs in the end. Winning the toss, DC opted to bowl first and their decision was proven wrong by the opening pair of RR. Jos Buttler continued his form from the last game and Devdutt Padikkal also smashed a half-century. Buttler scored 116 runs from 65 balls and Samson also played a knock of unbeaten 46 runs from 19 balls in the end. RR posted a mammoth total of 222/2 putting a tough target for DC.
DC kept losing wickets at regular intervals but kept fighting their battle. Rishabh Pant scored 44 runs while Prithvi Shaw and Lalit Yadav scored 37 runs. The team needed 36 runs in the last over and Rovman Powell hit three sixes in a row. A controversy surrounding no-ball occurred in the last over but DC lost the match by 15 runs in the end. Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped three wickets conceding 22 runs.
