Smriti Mandhanas Response After Cancelling Marriage Breaks the Internet

Smriti Mandhana finally made a public appearance after the recent issues she faced. Her marriage with Palash Muchhal has now been cancelled, and it has been reported that both parties have moved on. Following this incident, Smriti Mandhana talked about this to the media.

Smriti Mandhana is now ready for a comeback in the Indian jersey. The World Cup winning player suffered some of the tragic moments of her life lately, when she was closing into her marriage with Palash Muchhal. Due to some unknown reasons, the marriage between both of them has now been cancelled, and won't take place in near future.

Fans waited to have a direct answer from Smriti Mandhana about the same. Everyone wanted to know what exactly led to the same, but neither Smriti nor Palash made a public appearance. But Smriti Mandhana was recently present at the Amazon Smbhav Summit on Wednesday, where she talked about a number of things.

1. Smriti's First Statement After Wedding Cancellation

At the Amazon Smbhav Summit, Smriti Mandhana and the Indian captain, Harmanpreet Kaur were also present. There, Mandira Bedi, the host, asked a number of questions to both of them, as they are also the World Cup winning players. Along with that, some special questions were asked to Smriti Mandhana, related to the challenges she has faced lately.

She said, “I don’t think I love anything more than cricket. Wearing that Indian jersey is the motivation that drives us. You keep all your problems aside, and that thought alone helps you focus on life.” Smriti made it clear that it is the Indian jersey which has motivated her to a great extent, and also helped her to focus on life.

Along with that, she also recalled the World Cup final win against South Africa. She said, “This World Cup was the reward for the battle we fought over the years. We were waiting for it so badly. I’ve been playing for more than 12 years — many times things didn’t go our way. We visualised it before the final, and when we finally saw it on the screen, it gave us goosebumps.”

Smriti Mandhana also said that the game has been her ambition since her childhood. She said, “As a kid, the madness for batting was always there. In my mind, I always wanted to be called a world champion. You always start an innings at zero, no matter if you scored a hundred before. And don’t play for yourself — that’s what we kept reminding each other.”

2. Smriti-Palash Wedding Chaos

After the Women's World Cup win, the Indian team had another happy news. Smriti Mandhana was all set to marry Palash Muchhal on 23 November, and both of them even took it to the internet with the wedding card. Following this, several Indian players were spotted together in the marriage ceremonies of Palash Muchhal.

But a few hours before the final wedding ritual was set to take place, something unexpected happened. Smriti Mandhana's father, Shrinivas Mandhana got ill and was immediately hospitalised. The doctors checked, and it was known that he had not suffered from a stroke. But her father had to spend the next few days in the hospital.

Smriti Mandhana made it clear that she won't be marrying without her dad by her side. Due to this reason, their marriage was first called off. Eventually, Palash Muchhal also got ill and he was admitted in the same hospital. But he was released soon, and he went back to Mumbai, since the wedding had been called off.

At the same time, rumours spread all over the internet against Palash Muchhal. Amidst all this, Smriti also removed the wedding posts from her Instagram and social media handles, sparking chaos. On the other hand, Palak Muchhal (Palash Muchhal's sister) was uploading stories to remind fans that everything is well.

3. Wedding Cancellation

Fans had waited to know about the wedding status of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal. They knew that the wedding had been called off, but wanted to know the future date of the same. But what followed next was totally unexpected. Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal both took over their social media handles with a post.

They said that the wedding has now been cancelled. And another statement by Palash Muchhal added that his legal team will be taking action against the pages who posted against him this time. Smriti and Palash both said that they have decided to move on in their personal lives.
