Champions League Last 16 draw | Napoli play Barcelona; Liverpool draw Atletico
The Champions League last 16 draw is over with Napoli drawing Barcelona and reigning champions Liverpool facing Atletico Madrid in the knockout stages. The other ties also include Manchester City facing Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund playing Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea drawing Bayern Munich.
With the group stage over and done, the Champions League draw for the last of 16 has been announced in a draw at Nyon. It saw Real Madrid paired with English treble winners Manchester City while Liverpool will face Atletico Madrid in the round of 16. The draw also paired Serie A champions Juventus against Olympique Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain against Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona against Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli.
The fixtures will be played over two legs with the first leg played between 18 and the 26 of February and the second leg between 10 and 18 March of 2020 with the quarter-finals draw taking place shortly after that. This season’s finale is on the 30 of May in Istanbul for the first time since 2005, when Liverpool won the trophy in a sensational final against a strong AC Milan side.
