After another disappointing result for Arsenal, manager Unai Emery has revealed that he knows exactly how the supporters feel about him. The former PSG boss has come under immense criticism this season with the club without a win in their last five games and sit seventh after 13 league matches.

In a chaotic encounter at the Emirates Stadium, Unai Emery and company walked off the field with jeers and boos running around their home ground. It was far from a perfect performance from the home side and their issues were compounded by the fact that Southampton managed to walk away with something in the game. It has seen head coach Emery come under mounting pressure with the club winning just two of their last 11 Premier League games.

However, the former PSG boss has been publicly backed by the Arsenal board with a warning that results need to change for the club. Reports have also indicated that the club’s performances in their next few games will dictate Emery’s future more than anything and the Spaniard also admitted that his team did not play the way they had to.

"I understand how the supporters feel about the team and me. I'm going to work hard for them to come back and put in a good performance where we use our quality to show we can be better. Today they [the fans] helped us but we didn't give them the feedback to show our capacity to battle," he told Sky Sports.

Things could have gotten a lot worse for the home side with the Saints missing three brilliant chances to put the game well away from Arsenal in the dying moments. However, in the end, Alexandre Lacazette's equaliser in extra time saw the Gunners walk out with a draw despite Southampton registering 21 shots on goal. Yet, Emery went on to admit that he felt Arsenal played the best 20 minutes of their season in the second half with Nicolas Pepe the architect of that period.

"My job is to analyse and find solutions. We need to recover confidence. One good result will give us that confidence to achieve that performance. The best 20 minutes of the whole season came at the start of the second half but they scored when we were better maybe. We draw at the last moment but it's not enough," he added.
