Reports | Paris Saint-Germain closing in on record €70 million deal for Achraf Hakimi
According to ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain are moving closer towards a €70 million move for Achraf Hakimi which will make him the most expensive full-back in football history. The Moroccan international signed for Inter Milan last summer but has been linked with a move to France and England.
Inter Milan’s serious financial issues have seen the club forced into selling a few key stars with them already letting Ashley Young leave on a free-transfer. However, the Nerazzurri are set to overcome a large chunk of their debt by letting one big star leave with Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez, Nicolo Barella and a few others linked with a move away. However, amidst serious interest from PSG and Chelsea, Achraf Hakimi looks likely to leave the club this summer with the full-back in a battle between the two clubs.
But ESPN has reported that while Chelsea were interested in a potential move for Hakimi, the reigning Champions League champions never made a concrete offer. That is not the case with PSG as the club are inching closer to a €70 million deal for Hakimi including add-ons. The full-back will sign a five-year deal with the Parisians and will become the most expensive full-back in the process as well.
Reports have further indicated that personal terms were already agreed upon more than a month ago with Hakimi reportedly pushing for the move. ESPN further added that the sale will help cut down Inter Milan’s debts by a massive amount, although the club are still looking at a few more possible sales to help them even further.
