Two Indians in contention at IFSC Climbing World Championship 2021

Two Indians - Kumar Gaurav and Hritik Marne - are going to participate in the IFSC Climbing World Championship in Moscow, starting September 16. Sport climbing, which was a part of the Tokyo 2020, has gained popularity worldwide and many medalists from Tokyo will be seen in action in Moscow.

The IFSC Climbing World Championship 2021 gets underway on September 16 in Moscow, and there is something to cheer for the Indian fans as well. Kumar Gaurav and Hritik Marne will compete in the men’s speed, bouldering and lead events, as per a report in Olympics. com.

Climbing had made its debut at the Olympics in Tokyo 2020 and will be a part of the 2024 Paris Games as well. Many of the medalists from Tokyo will be seen in action in Moscow as well.  

Talking about Indians in the fray, Gaurav is from New Delhi and would be participating in the world event for the second time. He had competed in the 2019 Japan too and had finished 73rd.

On the other hand, the 21-year-old Hritik Marne has shown decent form coming into the World Championship. He had finished second at the 25th IMF National Sport Climbing Championships in Odisha.
