Being recognized and appreciated at Adelaide Oval is special, says Zaheer Khan

India's former pace spearhead Zaheer Khan was felicitated by Adelaide Oval cricket ground for his contribution to the game. He thanked Adelaide Oval for this gesture and said that he had fond memories of the venue because of its unique destination and would look forward to exploring Adelaide soon.

One of India’s finest exponents of swing bowling Zaheer Khan represented India in 92 Tests and 200 ODIs taking 311 Test wickets and 282 ODI wickets. He was joint-highest wicket taker in 2011 World Cup-winning campaign and announced his retirement from the international cricket in 2013.

On his recent visit to Australia with his wife Sagarika, Zaheer Khan was felicitated by Adelaide Oval cricket ground for his contribution to cricket. The felicitation program was attended by Darren Chandler, General Manager Marketing and Operations Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority, Minister Ridgway and his wife Meredith, Rodney Harrex, CE South Australian Tourism Commission and Raju Narayanan, Director of Indian Engagement for Government of SA.

Speaking of his experience playing at Adelaide, Zaheer said, “Adelaide Oval is a fantastic place to play cricket and I have fond memories at this stadium. I’ve always looked forward to the Adelaide leg of the trip on previous tours because it’s also one of the most unique destinations in Australia and there’s so much to discover here," reported Reuters.

He is happy with recognition given by the stadium and promises to explore  Adelaide more.

“Being recognized and appreciated here is very special and I look forward to returning back to explore more of the State very soon,” said Khan.

The left arm quick further posted an Instagram picture in which he thanked Adelaide Oval for hosting them

“Thank you #adelaideoval for hosting us. It was a complete pleasure to meet Mr David Ridgway and his lovely wife Meredith. Certainly brought back a lot of memories while taking a tour of the Oval."
