After the parliamentary approval to Citizenship Amendment Bill, Assam has suffered a massive hit as far as communication is concerned and that resulted in Assam v Services Ranji Trophy match being called off. Reports are that ACA will speak to the BCCI to replay the game on a later date.

After the Citizenship Amendment Bill came to a pass in Rajya Sabha, entire Assam went to violence mode in protest of the bill and sports has failed to move away from it. The match at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, which was playing host to the game between Assam and Services Ranji Trophy match, with the final day’s play being slated on Thursday, has been canceled due to "indefinite state-wide curfew".

ESPN Cricinfo quoted Assam Cricket Association (ACA) vice-president Debojit Saikia that players couldn't come out of the hotel room because of the curfew.

“Yes, there is no question of the players coming from the hotel to the stadium because of the curfew. There has been a lot of violence in the state, and in Guwahati, already. Their security is our biggest concern. So we had to call off the game today. The Services players, who were in with a great shot of bagging points for an outright win with Assam 74 for 5 in their second innings, still 161 runs adrift of the victory target, might even be prevented from leaving Guwahati tonight as planned," Saikia said.

“Their flight is at 7.20 pm. But we have spoken to the players and will see if they can stay on here. It might be risky to try to get to the airport today. We’ll speak to the authorities and see."

As a matter of fact, all airlines have also canceled their flights from Dishpur and offered to fly on December 13 instead of December 12.
