Playing for Victoria in the ongoing Marsh Cup, Glenn Maxwell has been producing gems as witty comments while being mic'ed up during the games. One such instance was when he joked with the commentators about trying Mankading in desperate need of a wicket, playing against Queensland, on Sunday.

During the seventh fixture of the ongoing Marsh Cup, a mic'ed up Glenn Maxwell remained at his hilarious best and gave witty responses to the commentators throughout the game. Batting first, Queensland's opening partnership was still undefeated at 149/0 and that's when the commentators decided to ask the player how far down he'd go to get a wicket at that moment.

Maxwell, who had bowled a few overs, then made a witty comment leaving the commentators in splits. The all-rounder implied he was ready to go controversial to get wickets in Melbourne. Into the 22nd over of Queensland’s innings, when their opening batsmen in Sam Heazlett and Usman Khawaja looked unmovable, the commentators asked Maxwell, who was fielding near the boundary line, "How would you get the first wicket?". Replying to that, Maxwell said: “Maybe a Mankad”.

The opening partnership (185) went on for a while and was only broken when Heazlett (88) got out. Meanwhile, at the end of the innings, Maxwell got a couple of wickets in his 10 overs, without of course having to Mankad. Queensland eventually posted a huge total of 322/9, and chasing that Victoria got all out for 168.
