Odisha FC have started their AIFF Hero Elite Youth League (U18) campaign with a 2-2 draw against Punjab FC on Saturday at Training Pitch 2, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Akshunna Tyagi scored both the goals for Odisha FC’s U-18 side in the game as they settled for a draw versus Punjab.

Odisha FC had a great start to the game as Tyagi opened the scoresheet for them in the 13th minute of the match and they took a 1-0 lead. However, before the end of the first half, Freddy Lallawmawma scored the equaliser for Punjab FC in the 40th minute.

As both the teams started with the scoreline reading 1-1 in the second half, Odisha FC performed well and they took the lead in the 79th minute. Tyagi was the goal scorer for the Bhubaneswar-based team again.

With a one-goal deficit, Punjab tried attacking and got a goal before the end of the match. Satpal Singh’s injury time-goal was enough for Punjab FC to hold Odisha FC for a 2-2 draw in their opening fixture of the youth tournament.

The Odisha FC colts will play their next game against Youth Football Club on December 20 in the ongoing AIFF Hero Elite Youth League (U18). Apart from Odisha FC, Punjab FC and Youth Football Club, the group also includes Sudeva Football Club, Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, Conscient Football, Maximus Prime Sports and United Punjab Football Club.
