Bizzare wicket| Middle stump uprooted while bails stay intact
In a strange turn of events on Saturday, Jatinder Singh was given out when his middle stump was uprooted while the bails remained in position. Singh was batting for Moone Valley when the incident took place which has resulted in a debate over whether it was a correct decision or not.
The Mid Year Cricket Association witnessed a first of a kind dismissal in the match between Moone Valley and Strathmore Heights when Jatinder Singh was dismissed. A delivery from the Strathmore bowler sent the middle stump tumbling while the bails remained unmoved which surprised everyone on the field including the Umpire.
Moone Valley skipper Michael Ozbun expressed his bewilderment at the incident as he narrated the whole story.
He said, âI was on the boundary, I saw the stumps fly and thought âall right, he got bowled, it was a silly shotâ. Then everybody was standing around the wickets and I didnât know why. I went out there, saw what was going on and it was very confusing.â
After a few minutes of marveling the incident, both sides unanimously decided that Jatinder should be given out.
âWe had no idea what the actual ruling on it was, but we all admired it for a few minutes,â Ozbun said.
"You probably couldnât do that again if you tried. We werenât sure if maybe (the stumps) were put it at a slight angle so there was just a little bit of pressure. When they were sitting on the stumps, they were in the grooves. It wasnât like the middle of the
