David Miller smashed five sixes off Bangladesh’s Mohammad Saifuddin in the 2nd T20I to become the fastest ever centurion in T20I cricket, which was also his maiden ton in the shortest format. After South Africa posted a huge total of 224 in 20 overs, Bangladesh could only manage 141 in 18.3 overs.

The Potchefstroom crowd got a glimpse of why David Miller has been given the nickname of "Killer Miller" on Sunday as the hard-hitter took the Bangladesh bowlers to the stands nine times helping the Proteas post a massive total of 224 runs in 20 overs, which Bangladesh struggled to match in their chase.

Bangladesh had dropped Miller at zero when he came in to replace an outgoing AB de Villiers in the 10 over and he made sure the visitors regretted it for the rest of the game. He hit seven boundaries and nine sixes as he shared a 79-run fourth-wicket off 41 balls with Hashim Amla, who also contributed 85 off 51 balls with 11 fours and a six.

Miller’s knock of 101 runs from 35 balls made him the fastest centurion in T20I now as he overcame compatriot Richard Levi, who had done it in 45 balls against New Zealand in 2012. The list has Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle next in line.

Miller’s tremendous innings included a viewer’s delight in the 19th over when he was facing Mohammad Saifuddin. The right-arm medium pacer, who had a great game until then giving 23 runs in three overs and picking up wickets of De Villiers and Amla, got his line and length distorted by Miller, who hit him for five consecutive sixes in the over.

South Africa won the game by 83 runs, which also completed their first clean sweep against a touring team as they won every match across Tests, one-day internationals and T20s.
