"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would like to inform that Dr M.V. Sridhar, General Manager - Cricket Operations, has decided to move on with effect from Saturday, 30th September 2017," BCCI informed in a press release today.

For now, Rahul Johri, along with his duties as the BCCI CEO, will take over the role and will be assisted by Mayank Parik, KVP Rao, and Gaurav Saxena.

"Please note that Dr MV Sridhar has decided to move on and tendered his resignation," Johri wrote in an email to the office-bearers as reported by PTI.

"His resignation has been accepted today by the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (COA). Dr Sridhar has agreed to stay on till September 30, 2017, for the smooth handover of work. We thank him for his services to BCCI."

"Sridhar was time and again told to relocate to Mumbai and operate from there. However, he was shuttling between Hyderabad and Mumbai, which was not the best way to function for the head of Cricket Operations," a senior BCCI official told PTI.
