In a match, you could expect two or three errors per innings but it is hard to believe that on one delivery, a match could witness three errors. The incident occurred in a WBBL match where a mix-up by the batsmen was followed by an error by the wicket-keeper and the umpire who gave a wrong decision.

The 42nd match of the Women’s Big Bash League will be remembered for many reasons as the thrilling match went as far as the last ball of the over. Melbourne Stars won the toss and elected to bat first and gave a target of 119 runs to their arch-rivals Renegades at the MCG. Interestingly, Renegades women team also managed 118 runs in allotted 20 overs. After the match ended with a tie, both teams played the one-over eliminator, Super over, where Melbourne Stars controlled their nerves to defeat their opponents.

The match also witnessed an unusual occurrence during the Renegades’ innings as the on-field umpires reversed their run-out verdict and called back Satterthwaite to the crease to continue her innings after her replacement had already come to the ground. The incident occurred in the 13th over of the game when Kristen Beams delivered a ball to Hayley Jensen. The batswoman started running to steal one run but her partner sent her back after she was midway across the crease. Eventually, Satterthwaite decided to make a run for it and as the wicketkeeper Nicole Faltum removed the bails she was well short of her crease. The disappointment was visible on Satterthwaite’s face who removed her helmet and gloves while making her way back to the dug-out.

But soon, the TV replays revealed that the keeper dislodged the bails with her gloves before cleanly collecting the ball. So when the big screen signalled not out, then the player returned to the crease and ended up scoring unbeaten 31.
